Not everybody likes and dislikes the same things that I do. This realization eventually led me to create my company, a company where I sought to match jobs with the people who actually like those jobs. With an ever important eye on the bottom line, sometimes doing the things we don t like to do are necessary.&nbsp; It is possible to cloud our objectivity in the analysis of a team member s value to the bottom line with the thought of having to do the tasks ourselves. Not only did my realization mean that not everybody likes and dislikes the same things, but it also means that not everybody has the same motivation. In order for a team member to add to the bottom line what motivates them must be in agreement with what motivates you. In agreement does not mean the same but the motivation cannot be in conflict with yours. For example somebody who is motivated primarily by working toward the greater good of society would be in conflict with somebody who is motivated by a ruthless drive to be number one. </span></p> <p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"'>&nbsp;</span><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"'> <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>The decision to make a change is often a very agonizing one (at least it is for me). Focusing on only the bottom line while ignoring the other factors that come into play seems very cold but it must be done. We must focus on the big picture. Do you believe that your business helps it customers? Does your business support the economy by providing jobs and buying supplies and services? If so, how much more harm would be done if you did not make a change and you allowed your feelings for one or two people to bring down your entire company? In order for a company to do any good in this world it must survive and I would even argue that it must thrive. I believe that one of the things that motivate all of us entrepreneurs is the good we can do with a thriving business.
